Project Info:

  • Detailed Desk & field research for identifying products for exports and focused on Bamboo, Textiles and Food sectors in Ethiopia.
  • Mapped potential suppliers and evaluated them from exports perspective. This included gap analysis in terms of Price competitiveness, Quality processes & skills, Compliances (Social & Environmental), Sustainability, Transparency in supply chain etc..
  • Created Strategy and Execution plan for the strategy.

Activities Performed

  1. Researched extensively on agriculture, textile and food business potential in Ethiopia
  2. Mapped Value chains and how optimal value chains can be created for sustainable competitiveness
  3. Identification of products to be competitive for exports out of Africa
  4. Identified the gaps, challenges and limitations existing in the value chains.
  5. Recommended the Strategy to overcome the challenges.
  6. Mapping of suppliers and evaluation of their capabilities to manufacture for export markets.
  7. Evaluated both macro & micro scenarios
  8. Created a strong network with Local authorities, trade associations, Testing & compliance organizations, NGO’s/foundations etc..
  9. Contributed on the policy making forums and gave inputs on infrastructure development to facilitate efficient & competitive exports of products.
